Burns Accounting Inc. is a local Montezuma County, CO accounting firm with highly trained Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisors® on staff. We can make it easy for your business to use QuickBooks™ to its full potential because we provide all the support services you need.

We start by recommending the appropriate version of QuickBooks that’s best suited to your business, and then we remotely install and setup the software to track your financial data properly from the start. Next, we’ll conduct customized training classes at your office to teach you all you need to know to operate QuickBooks. From that point on, we’ll act as your personal QuickBooks consultant. We’ll be available to answer questions, troubleshoot problems, and correct errors anytime throughout the year.

Runel "Nelly" Burns

Meet Runel “Nelly” Burns, President of Burns Accounting Inc. Nelly has been a certified QuickBooks Pro Advisor for more than 15 years and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Teaching from San Diego State University and a graduate certificate in Accounting from National University of San Diego. Nelly opened her first bookkeeping business in 2006 in California and simultaneously became a QuickBooks Pro Advisor which combined her skills as a bookkeeper and a teacher. She focused on providing business owners with knowledge and confidence to use QuickBooks software effectively through individualized training. Nelly now lives in Colorado and continues to work closely with each of her clients to understand their needs. She provides solutions specifically tailored to their business. Her practice is mainly remote yet she also offers in-person, group trainings in QuickBooks software, business basics, and budgeting.

When Nelly is not working, she enjoys cooking, organic gardening, homestead farming, and motorcycling through the back roads of the beautiful Southwest Colorado with her husband.


Lorena Martinez

Lorena Martinez

Meet Lorena Martinez, bookkeeper for Burns Accounting Inc. Lorena has been a QuickBooks bookkeeper for eight years. Simultaneously, she has been pursuing higher education to perfect her skills. Lorena has earned two Associate degrees; one in Business Administration and the other in General Studies from Colorado Mountain College. Lorena is currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and is in her last year of study at Colorado Mountain College. Lorena is fluent in Spanish. In addition to providing accurate bookkeeping for us, she also is becoming an expert at Quickbooks Desktop payroll. We are very pleased to have Lorena on our team at Burns Accounting Inc. We look forward to her continued growth in accounting, so that she may expand her capabilities to serve our clients.

When Lorena is not working, she enjoys traveling and time with her three awesome kids.
